Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?
The first time hurts more than any other time. Why? Because if you wax regularly, you are removing less hair each time.
How often do I need to be waxed?
The recommendation is every 4 weeks. That goes for everything: Brows to Brazilian. Some clients experience a slower or faster rate of growth, and that time can be changed accordingly.
How long does the hair need to be to get waxed
You need to have at least 3 weeks of hair growth. In fact the longer the better for your first wax. It is VERY important to have enough hair growth when you come to your appointment. This allows the wax to grab the hairs easily. If your hair is too short, I will ask that you reschedule your appointment.
I HAVE MY PERIOD. DO I NEED TO CANCEL?
No! It doesn’t bother us at all. Just use a tampon and we will work around it. Happens all the time!
WILL WAXING MAKE MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER / STRONGER / DARKER?
Don’t bald men wish! If you become a regular waxer, you will notice that your hair will become quite sparse and not as course. And waxing will not change the pigment of your hair.
WHAT IF I HAVE A LOW PAIN TOLERANCE?
We suggest taking a mild pain reliever like Aleve or Tylenol 30 minutes prior to your appointment. This can help lessen the pain you may experience during your service.
WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?
We use a revolutionary luxury wax line that minimizes irritation, it’s gentle yet very effective. For sensitive areas, such as the face, underarms, and bikini area, we use hard wax. A hard wax melts at a lower temperature, is applied in a thicker layer, and is removed without a strip. The advantage is that we can go over the area multiple times without causing irritation, and it is excellent for delicate skin. For larger areas, like the legs and back, a high quality soft wax is used , which is applied thinly and removed using strips.
IS WAXING SCARY?
Absolutely NOT!! We love what we do, and in fact “That was so much better than I thought" is commonly heard after the first appointment.
Who is a Chemical Peel good for?
Chemical Peels are exciting and result oriented treatments. Superficial chemical peels are designed to stimulate cell turnover which helps restore the skin to a more youthful appearance. Fine lines may be softened, dull skin appears more radiant, rough or uneven skin becomes smoother. Sun damaged or blotchy skin evens out. Acne scarring may be softened. The consultation for these treatments is done after your initial Customized Facial and is for those wanting anti-aging, acne treatments or scar revision.
